NYS Honorary Fire Chiefs Medal of Honor – FDNY

Firefighter Michael Kotzo, of Ladder Company 28, was honored with the Chief of Department Peter J. Ganci Jr. Medal and NYS Honorary Fire Chiefs Association Medal—the top fire operations medal—at the FDNY’s 156th Medal Day Ceremony for performing two lifesaving rope rescues during a challenging top-floor fire in February 2024 in Manhattan.

NYSHFCA Medal Winner Firefighter Abraham Miller Awarded
The United States Public Safety Medal of Valor
The NYSHFCA is proud to announce that Firefighter Abraham Miller of Ladder Company 23 received the United States Public Safety Medal of Valor during a ceremonial presentation at the White House in Washington, DC, today, Monday, May 16, 2022. Firefighter Miller was chosen as one of six recipients of the United States Public Safety Medal of Valor, out of 1,500 national applications.
Prior to being awarded the US Public Safety Medal of Valor FF Miller was presented with the Peter J. Ganci, Jr. Medal/
NYS Honorary Fire Chiefs Association Medal at the FDNY Medal Day 2021.
