NYSHFCA
The New York State Honorary Fire Chiefs Association was founded in 1950. Our Mission Statement is to provide financial assistance for educational purposes to New York State career firefighters and their families. We also present several NYSHFCA Medals of Valor to the FDNY and upstate as well as maintain firefighter memorials.
We are a 501 C-3 charitable organization and proudly participate in the following events and programs:
FDNY & NY State Educational Scholarships
The NYSHFCA presents educational scholarships to professional firefighters and children of paid firefighters in New York State. Scholarships start at $3,000.

23rd Street Fire Memorial >>
Yearly remembrance of the 12 firefighters who gave the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on October 17, 1966.
Wooster Street Memorial >>
Remembrance of the 6 firefighters who gave the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on February 14, 1958.
New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial
The New York State Fallen Firefighters’ Memorial at the Empire State Plaza, in Albany, New York is perhaps the finest memorial to both career and volunteer firefighters in America, this striking bronze monument is dedicated to the more than 2000 firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty in New York State.
Ted Green Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund awards upstate and downstate scholarships to children of firefighters in the amount of $3,000.
FDNY Medal Day Ceremonies
NYSHFCA presents the New York State Honorary Fire Chiefs Association Medal and a monetary award.
In addition every other year we award the Shelly Rothman Medal with a monetary award.
